3D-frames will be pleased to provide you with a variety of
goods, services and materials to complement our 'Dry Shell' package. Listed below
are brief descriptions of our normal options. However, if you do not see exactly
what you are looking for, just ask. We will do our best to serve you.
- Ancillary
goods may be selected from: end grain treatment, galvanised steel lintels to
carry masonry over external openings, stainless steel wall ties designed
to flexibly tie masonry to the timber framed structure, 500 gauge
clear polythene vapour control layer for external walls and roofs,
vapour control layer jointing tape, 45x45mm s/w plasterboard noggins,
hinge down ladder access type roof traps and all types of hand and
machine fixings.
- Window and external door packages are available
subject to preferred framing material, frame styles and finish,
handle selection and glazing specification. For customers looking
for high-specification products, we are able to source triple-glazed,
factory-finished windows, French and patio doors along with insulated
external doors set in draught-sealed frames.
- Floating Ground Floor
package comprising 22mm V313 tongue and grooved chipboard sheets,
woodworking adhesive, 500 gauge clear polythene sheeting and 60mm
rigid foam insulation board. When laid in the correct manner these
materials will combine to provide a warm, resilient floor surface
ready to receive finishes by others.
- Insulation package comprising
suitable Rockwool rollbatt products for
walls, intermediate floors and flat areas of pitched roofs. Various
thicknesses of Rockwool will be quoted to meet target u-values.
However, in certain circumstances and locations it will be necessary
to allow for rigid foam insulation boards in lieu of Rockwool.
Sloping ceilings are a case in point. Rigid foam insulation boards
may also be used where enhanced insulation performance is required,
but where stud depth is limited.
- Vapour
Control package comprising 500 gauge clear polythene sheeting and
adhesive tape for joints. We supply sufficient materials to cover
all internal surfaces of external walls and ceilings directly below
the roof structure. A properly installed vapour control layer will
restrict air infiltration from outside whilst at the same time
limit the amount of water vapour entering the structure from inside.
- Plasterboard package comprising various thicknesses and grades of tapered
edge gypsum plasterboard suitable for joint taping or thin coat plaster
skimming by others. Loose or belt feed fixing screws as required and specified
by customer.
- Underfloor heating package comprising design and supply of pipework,
manifolds, valves, pumps and room thermostats to suit the timber frame
structure supplied.
- Timber Cladding package comprising treated s/w counter battening, treated
planed or fine sawn interlocking boarding (featheredge or combi-board for
decoration by others), external and internal corner timbers, window and
external door reveal battening and all fixing nails (for hammer fixing).
- First Fix package comprising door lining packs, window boards and staircases
made from various materials subject to specification.
- Second Fix package comprising internal doors, skirtings, architraves
and feature timbers. Certain quality doorsets are available.
- SAPS Calculations package is a must for those persons dealing with Building
Regulation approvals. As part of Part L (conservation of fuel and power
2006) it is a requirement that the building to be constructed meets or
exceeds a target emissions figure. The actual figure is computed using
a host of input data and is related to the amount of Carbon Dioxide emitted
into the atmosphere as a consequence of the new building being constructed
and used. The actual figure has to be the same or less than the target.
Only those buildings that 'pass' may be built! We can provide you with
a SAPS assessment (for a nominal fee) where your involvement is limited
to filling out an input data form.
- Erection package comprising the services of an experienced team who will
travel to your site and erect your 'dry shell' on your prepared substructure.
As certain conditions do apply, please do ask about your particular project.
